Optimal Network Reconfiguration using Binary Particle Swarm Optimization

Abstract

In this paper, Multi-Indexed weighted optimization problem is formulated and applied to perform optimal network reconfiguration using Binary Particle
Swarm Optimization to achieve better network performance. The multi-indexed weighted objective function is used to reconfigure both IEEE 33-bus and 69-bus
distribution network and results are compared with reference paper. The results show that the proposed method is found to be effective in term of power loss
minimization, voltage profiles, restoring power and relieving overloaded lines.
